June: The month of weddings is gone.../ Junio: El mes de las bodas se ha ido

Hello Cyberheads.

As you probably have noticed I didn't post anything last month. It was June and it meant to me a month full of social events. Two of my closest people married to my surprise and happinness. Juan a friend since Highschool got married with Lola the second weekend of the month. The wedding was really nice and we enjoy the party much. It's traditional, here in Mexico, to dance a piece called "La vibora de la mar". Originally the piece is a children's game. The kids usually form a line, one beside another and crossed a somekind of bridge that two other people give shape with their arms and bodies. The game is about doing circles and running across a garden and crossing under the bridge form by the two people. When the song is over, the bridge "fall" and a kid is trapped inside the arms of the bridge people. They tell the kid "Which one do you choose? Watermellon or Cantelope?" The kid choose (literally he is choosing between the two bridge people) and he form another arc beside the person he chose.
At the wedding party the bride and the groom form with the bride's veil the bridge and they usually stand on a chair. Some men hold them in order to not let them fall. The song is played two times. The first time usually is played in order to let the women of the party play or dance the song making a line. Then it's men's turn. Usually the line always want to make the same-sex newly-wed fall. It's some kind of a "triumph". And usually... women are more aggresive but with less result.
I hold Juan in his wedding. Neither women nor men make him fall.
The second wedding was Lourdes and Rene's. Lourdes is a great friend, she is more than a friend my cousin. I really loved to see her happy and finally with a great man.
Sorry for not posting enough, sorry specially to Nancy because she didn't receive more book reviews. I will post them more often.

Como probablemente han notado no escribí nada el último mes. Era Junio y significó para mi un mes lleno de eventos sociales. Dos de mis personas más cercanas se casaron para mi sorpresa y felicidad. Juan un amigo desde la preparatoria se casó con Lola la segunda semana del mes. La boda fue realmente agradable y disfrutamos la fiesta mucho. Es tradicional, aquí en México, bailar una pieza llamada "la víbora de la Mar". Originalmente la pieza es un juego para niños. Los chicos usualmente forma una línea, uno detrás de otro y cruzan una especie de puente que otras dos personas le dan forma con sus brazos y cuerpos. El juego se trata de hacer círculos y correr através de un jardín y cruzar debajo del puente formado por las otras dos personas. Cuando la canción termina, el puente "cae" y un niño queda atrapado por dentro de los brazos de las personas del puente. Ellos le dicen al niño "¿Con quien te vas con Melón o con Sandía? El niño escoje (literalmente escoje entre una de las dos personas del puente) y forma otro arco detrás de la persona que escogió.
En la fiesta de bodas la novia y el novio forman con el velo de la novia el puente y usualmente se paran sobre una silla. Algunos hombres los sostienen para no dejarlos caer. La canción es tocada en dos ocasiones. La primera vez usualmente se toca para dejar a las mujeres de la fiesta bailar la canción formando una línea. Luego es el turno de los hombres. Usualmente la línea quiere hacer caer al novio del mismo sexo. Es una especie de "triunfo". Y usualmente... las mujeres son más agresivas. Sostuve a Juan en su boda. Ni las mujeres ni los hombres pudieron hacerlo caer.
La segunda boda fue la de Lourdes y Rene. Lourdes es una gran amiga, es más que una amiga mi prima. Realmente amé verla feliz y finalmente con un gran hombre.
Lamento no haber posteado lo suficiente, lo siento especialmente por Nancy por que no recibió más revisiones de libros. Escribiré más sobre eso.
