The Amber Spyglass / El Catalejo Lacado

Hello Cyberheads,

The last chapter of "His Dark Materials" Saga is The Amber Spyglass. This chapter begins when Marisa Coulter takes our heroine Lyra mantaining her kidnapped and drugged sleep. Meanwhile Will meet two angels who help him to find Lyra's trace. After freeing Lyra They decide to go to the World of the Dead but the subtle knife has been broken by Mrs. Coulter. Lord Asriel sends two spies from a race called Gallivespians. These people are really small (they are not able to even fill your palm hand) and they have doubts about the children's plans. Without remedy they follow the children into a cave where Iorek, the armored bear, awaits from them. He repairs the subtle knife with regret.
Will, Lyra and the Gallivespians, with the help of the knife, go to the World of Dead. Lyra wants to reencounter her lost friend Roger. They have to cross a river leaving their dæmons so that represent a great challenge for Lyra. While they are crossing the river Will learn that he has a dæmon too. Lyra finds Roger finally and after looking arround this horrible world she decided to free the ghosts to another world.
Meanwhile Lord Asriel want to preserve Dust forever, not destroy it. He does not think 'sin' as the Church defines it is bad. Like the angels desire flesh, 'sin' is no more than enjoyment of life. Without such 'sin' there'd be no stories to tell when we dead. It is not really 'sin', it is in fact freedom. If the Church destroys Dust, which they think is Original Sin, that freedom will be lost forever, and the Authority's oppression will dominate all worlds.
Lyra and Will accomplishes their mission and leave that world only to recover their dæmons. Mary Malone (have you forgot about her? Read my "The Subtle Knife" review) has a mission too, "to temptate" Lyra. But what does that mean? Does Mrs. Coulter end her life of manipulations and envy as she deserves? Well that is the real end of the book so I'm not going to tell you now! Later I'm going to post my personal opinion about the whole saga, so stay tunned!

El último capítulo de la Saga "La Materia Oscura" es El catalejo Lacado. Este capítulo comienza cuando Marissa Coulter toma a nuestra heroina Lyra manteniendola secuestrada y drogada para que duerma. Mientras tanto Will conoce a dos angeles quienes le ayudan a encontrar el rastro de Lyra. Después de liberarla deciden ir al mundo de los muertos pero la daga ha sido rota por la Sra. Coulter. Lord Asriel manda dos espías de una raza llamada Gallivespianos. Estas personas son muy pequeñas (no son capaces de llenar aún la palma de la mano) y tienen dudas acerca de los planes de los niños. Sin remedio siguen a los niños al interior de una cueva donde Iorek, el oso acorazado, los espera. Él repara la daga con remordimientos.
Will, Lyra y los Gallivespianos, con la ayuda de la daga, van al mundo de los muertos. Lyra quiere encontrarse con su amigo perdido Roger. Tienen que cruzar un río dejando sus daimonions lo que representa un gran reto para Lyra. Mientras cruzan el río Will aprnede que el también tiene un daimonion. Lyra encuentra a Roger finalmente y después de observar alrededor de ese mundo horrible decide liberar a los fantasmas a otro mundo.
Mientras tanto Lord Asriel quiere preservar el Polvo para siempre, no destruirlo. No piensa que el "pecado" como la Iglesia lo define es malo. Como los ángeles desean la "carne", el "pecado" no es otra cosa más que el puro placer de vivir. Sin tla "pecado" no habría historias que contar cuando muramos. No es un "pecado", en realidad es libertad. Si la Iglesia destruye el Polvo, el cual creen es el Pecado Original, esa libertad de perderá para siempre, y la opresión de la Autoridad dominará todos los mundos.
Lyra y Will cumplen su misión y dejan ese mundo solo para recuperar sus daimonions. Mary Malone (¿Se han olvidado de ella? Lean mi revisión sobre "La Daga") tiene una misión tambien, "tentar" a Lyra. Pero ¿Qué significa eso? ¿La Sra. Coulter termina su vida de manipulaciones y envidia como se merece? Bueno eso es el final real del libro asi que ¡no se los voy a decir ahora! Después colocaré mi opinion personal acerca de toda la saga, ¡Así que estén pendientes!
